Anna Mabel Morgan, 93, of Greensburg, passed away on August 19, 2011. She was born on October 24, 1917, the daughter of Grover and Jessie (Goddard) Smith. Anna Mabel was a 1935 graduate of Greensburg High School and went on to Graduate from Methodist Hospital Nursing School in 1939. In 1942 she enlisted into the United States Navy and served during WWII. Anna Mabel was very active at the First Presbyterian Church, she served on almost every committee, was a Sunday school teacher, and an Ordained Elder since 1965. Anna Mabel was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, a member of the 4-H and Home Ec Club- Friendly Neighbors. In 1945 she married Raymond McCarty, he preceded her in death. She then married Voyle Morgan in 1973, he preceded her in death.
Survivors include: Son- Patrick (Sally) McCarty, Son In Law- Ward Stiles, Sister- Barbara (Mack) Fultz, Sister In Law- Pat Smith, Grandchildren- Molly McCarty, Melissa Stiles, and Amanda (Adam) Priquette, Great Grandson- Pierce Priquette.
She was preceded in death by: her Parents, Husbands, Daughter- Karen Stiles, Sister- Helen Corbrey, Brothers- James and Ross Smith.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Steve Matthies will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
