Alvin Joseph David Peterson, 78, of Greensburg passed away on January 8, 2012 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 26, 1933 in Niagra, Wisconsin the son of Alvin and Marian Peterson. On April 17, 1954, he married Maridel Brogan in Colorado Springs. Alvin served in the United States Army and retired as a Master Sergeant after 21 years of service. He also retired after 25 years of service at Hillrom of Batesville.
Survivors include: Wife- Maridel R. Peterson, Daughters- Elaine Peterson, Nena (Doug) Cain, Linda (David) Fox, Patricia (Bradley) McCullough, Teresa (Wade) Fenley, Maridel (Laramy) Murphy, and Taylor Peterson, Grandchildren- Pennie Peterson, Dana Towels, Joesph, Jamie, and Alvin Cain, David, Jonathan, and Dalton Fox, Kelby, and Kylea Jones, Keifer and Keegan McCullough, Jayden and Trinity Fenley, Kadie and Macie Hampton, and 11 Great Grandchildren all of Greensburg. Alvin was preceded in death by his Parents, Grandson- Sebastian Fenley and Brother- Kenneth Peterson.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Father John Meyer will be officiating. Private Burial will follow at a later time with full Military Honors. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cheer Fund of Decatur County.
