We remember and celebrate the life of Woodrow LaMar Meridith who went home to be with our Heavenly Father on November 13, 2010 in Greensboro, NC. He resided in Sanford, Florida and Greensboro, North Carolina.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2010 at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Street Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
LaMar was born in Frostproof, Florida on April 25, 1937. He graduated from Boone High School and was employed as a Sales Representative for Nabisco Brands until his retirement in 1994 after 38 years of dedicated service.
He was a member of Good Sheperd Lutheran, Sanford, Florida where he served as a council member.
He was a loving father and husband who appreciated nature and loved the great outdoors. He especially enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and sports with family and friends in the mountains and at the beach. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, his “grand-animals” as well as his beloved dog, Osa.
LaMar is survived by family and friends: Mattie Lee Meridith, Mother; Robert L. Meridith, Brother; Isabel Meridith, Sister-in-Law; Deborah E. Meridith, Daughter; Woodrow (Woody) L. Meridith, II, Son; Brittany Anne Nicole Benge, Daughter; David Benge, Son-in-Law; Emma Nicole Lee Benge, Granddaughter; Marilyn Parkinson Meridith; Carlos Granados; Osa, his dog
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Meridith
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the LaMar Meridith Memorial Garden Fund to create a living memorial near the spring at the Kopper Top Life Learning Center farm in North Carolina.
