William (Bill) Eugene Fox, II

William (Bill) Eugene Fox II passed away unexpectedly on February 8, 2024, at the age of 65. Bill was born on January 29th, 1959, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, the son of the late William Eugene and Mary Alice Fox.

From an early age Bill brought a sense of excitement and fun to all those who knew him. Growing up in Clarksburg, Bill developed a strong work ethic working alongside his family. He excelled in sports and was an accomplished athlete. After high school Bill played football at Virginia Tech.

Upon completion of college, Bill married Elizabeth (Libby) Wolfe and they enjoyed 40 years of marriage. They initially settled in Roanoke, Virginia and welcomed 2 children, Sarah Elizabeth and Matthew William.

In 1988 they moved to Greensboro, North Carolina. His drive to succeed resulted in a successful 40 plus year sales career, where he was respected and known for his humility, honesty, and reliability. His competitive spirit remained and he always looked forward to his morning runs with his running group as well as a round of golf. However, most of all he loved his time with this family. He cherished his family and was happiest playing with his grandsons, Christian and Levi. Bill’s faith guided him through his life and he was always willing to help anyone in need.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Libby; daughter, Sarah (Giancarlo) Bobbio; son, Matthew; grandchildren, Christian and Levi Bobbio; sister, Jan Fox (Ted Wesolowski) and his extended family whom he loved.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at Oak Ridge Methodist Church, 2424 Oak Ridge Road, Oak Ridge, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Family Life Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill's memory to the charity of one's choice.
