Wayne Hartsell Taylor

Wayne Hartsell Taylor, 91, of Colfax, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at River Landing at Sandy Ridge. She was the loving wife of the late Dr. Clyde Leslie Taylor. A celebration of life service for Wayne will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, North Elm Chapel with Chaplain Robin Mundy officiating. The family will receive friends following the service with a light reception.

Born on October 14, 1932 in Charlotte she was the daughter of the late Jackson and Madeline Hartsell. Wayne married Clyde in 1957. She was a 2nd grade teacher and taught school until her children were born. Once her son and daughter were born, she became a homemaker and became involved in their activities and in the community. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was the leader of the Chrismon Group for 28 years. She was the president and charter member of Bonne Terre Garden Club. Wayne enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, gardening and handiwork. Wayne also volunteered at Wesley Long Hospital for a while.

Wayne was predeceased by her husband, Clyde Taylor who passed away in January 2024 and her parents.

She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Gaynor and husband Bill; her son, Eric Taylor and wife Jennifer; six grandchildren, Helen, Katie and John Gaynor and Jack, Matthew and Courtney Taylor; her twin sister, Jacquline “Jayne” Thacker; and numerous other family members and friends.
