Warren Haynes Davis, 75, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Thursday September 15, 2022 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. He was born September 22, 1946 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Fred Ernest and Nora Haynes Davis.
Warren was retired from the U.S. Postal service and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the VFF and American Legion. While living in Dallas he served as Post Commander of the VFW.
He was married to Kitty Davis who preceded him in death on March 20, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Carolyn Davis McNeely and a brother, Fred Davis.
Warren is survived by his sister, Martha Davis Korn of Houston, Texas; his brother, William “Bill” Davis and wife (Helen) of Fort Worth, Texas; step-daughter, Cassie McDowell and husband Jackie of Austin, TX; step-sons, Britt Harder and wife Courtney of Greensboro, Brad Harder and wife Erica of Roanoke, VA and eight step-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service for Warren will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday October 1, 2022 at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. Military Honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Inurnment beside of his wife will be held later at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home before the service from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
