Born in 1945 in Greeensboro, NC, Wanda attended Segefield Elementary School and graduated from Sumner High School with the Class of 1963.
After graduation she attended a local beauty college and was employed as a hair stylist at Cinderella beauty salon on Spring Garden Street, in Greensboro.
Later career changes included data entry for Wake Forest University Physicians, and communications and admissions with Novant Health, both in Winston-Salem.
Wanda was a gifted cook and loved having family gathered around a hearty meal to visit, reminisce, and share lots of laughter. She also looked forward to annual family reunions to reconnect with extended family, sharing everyone's best dishes and recipes.
After leaving the workforce because of health reasons, she learned custom greeting card making and created beautiful designs. Her favorite designs included birds, butterflies, flowers, and bright colors, which were also some of her favorite things in life. She especially loved hummingbirds and pansies.
Wanda is survived by three daughters, Melissa Coltrane Hoots of Kernersville, NC, Grey Richardson of High Point, NC and Joyce Richardson Burcham of Winston-Salem, NC. Her daughters were her heart and were blessed to be gathered around her during her last moments of this life, sending her into Heaven with love. She is also survived by many cousins and extended family members.
Arrangements under the direction of Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 West Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC.
