A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, November 20, at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Service, Lineberry Center, 515 North Elm Street, with Reverend Gene Dean officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Ginnie was born May 4, 1940, in Plainfield, New Jersey, daughter of the late Richard Harold and Helen Boyd Mills. She graduated from Scotch Plains High School, Trenton State Teachers College and Western Connecticut University. Ginnie worked for the Guilford County School System for 13 years and taught at Union Hill School in High Point.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sampson was preceded in death by her brother, John Boyd. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Allan M. Sampson; children, Scott Earl Sampson of Greensboro, Jeffrey Richard Sampson and wife, Wendy of Cary, Jennifer Joanne Wilson and husband, Timothy of High Point; grandchildren, James Allan Sampson, Hunter McRae Sampson and wife, Kara Lena McKinley Sampson, Ian Sampson, Katherine, Timothy Allan Wilson; brother, Ronald Boyd and wife Phyllis of Hilton Head, SC and sister-in-law, Susan Boyd of Greensboro.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ginnie’s memory to Hospice Home at High Point, 1803 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the staff of Hospice Home at High Point and Wesley Long Hospital, 3rd Floor, West Wing Oncology, for the care given to Ginnie and her family.
