Victor Robert Bob Henry Harrison Sr.

Victor Robert “Bob” Henry Harrison, Sr. 91, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Morningview Assisting Living. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, 11:00 am at the Forest Lawn Cemetery with Reverend Susan Michaels officiating.

Bob was born in Montreal, Canada, on July 14, 1919, the son of John Robert and Isabelle McQueen Harrison. He served in the US Army during WW II, service in North Africa and Italy. He worked with Carolina Steel for 45 years until his retirement. He was a former member of Peace United Church of Christ. Bob was a member at Center United Methodist Church and enjoyed ceramics.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lee Andrew Harrison in 1997. Those surviving include his wife, Patricia “Pat” Jones Fitzgerald Harrison of the home; children, Joan Lee Harrison of Chapel Hill, NC, Victor R. H. Harrison Jr. and wife Cheryl of Midway, NC and John Walter Harrison and wife Margaret “Beth” of Raleigh, NC. Grandchildren surviving are; Victor Robert H. Harrison III, Benjamin Long Harrison, Marie Elizabeth Harrison Fogartie and husband James, Brian Edward Harrison, 4 stepsons, 2 stepdaughters, step grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Center United Methodist Church, 6142 Lake Brandt Road, Greensboro, NC 27455.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel.
