Thomas was born on March 5, 1947, the son of Thomas J. and Lois Simmons Spillman Sr. He served his country in the US Navy. Most of his career was spent in customer service. He recently retired from Cardinal Health in Greensboro.
Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a member of Guilford College United Methodist Church. He loved music and was an avid reader of science fiction. He enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, vinyl records and coins. He was known for his skills in answering trivia questions of any sort and was the “biggest winner” of Jeopardy without appearing on the show. He loved his family and will be deeply missed.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Cheryl; daughter, Kristin of Greer, AZ; sons, Casey Spillman and wife Jessica of Sanford, NC and granddaughter, Clara; and Andrew Spillman of Greensboro, NC and brother, James Spillman and wife Donna of Lousiville, KY.
Services to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
