Thomas Joel Bivens Jr.

Thomas J. Bivens, Jr. (Tom) passed away on Thursday, January 3. He was 78. Always cheerful, and a reliable source of a good joke, Tom was a trusted advisor to many. Tom was a graduate of both Curry High School and High Point College. After early years at Pilot Life Insurance, Tom owned independent insurance agencies in Monroe, Marshville and Greensboro from 1968 to 1998. Tom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pat; his children Roy, Rachel and Dan; and his grandchildren Joshua, Cassady, JT, and Kate. The family will receive friends at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home on Thursday, January 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. A service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 4211 Wayne Rd, Greensboro, NC, 27407, on Friday, January 11, 2019, at 11 a.m, followed by a brief reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may made to All Saints Episcopal Church or the American Diabetes Foundation.
