Theodore R. "Ted" Quate

Ted was born on October 31, 1932 in Guilford County, the son of John Henry and Maude Dixon Quate. Ted served his country in the US Navy. He was employed as a welder with General Metals and later GFE. He was a member of Glenwood Friends for over 60 years. He always enjoyed being outside working in his yard, taking care of his cars and always looked forward to the time he could spend with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Irene of the home; children, Tim Quate and wife Dacia of Julian, NC and Lynn Quate Barrow and husband Dennis of Thomasville NC; grandchildren, Austin , Andrew, Hunter and Nicholas and brother, Charles Quate and wife Elaine of Greensboro, NC

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at Glenwood Friends Meeting. Burial with military honors will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
