Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407. Thelma will be laid to rest next to her husband, following the funeral service. The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm, at the funeral home.
Thelma was born in Siler City on August 19, 1931, to the late Clarence and Nellie Dowd. She was a long-time member of Rocky Knoll Baptist Church. She retired from O’Connor Metal Fabricators. Thelma was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond O’Connor; daughter, Donna Morgan; and grandsons, Steve “Arnie” O’Connor Jr. and Mark “Little Mark” Morgan, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Steve O’Connor (Kay), Ronald “Ronnie” O’Connor (Robin) and Teresa Dunman (Robert “Leonard”); grandchildren, Amanda O’Connor, Michelle Bullin and Angel Carroll; six great-grandchildren and other extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Restoration Church at The Rock (formerly known as, Rocky Knoll Baptist Church), 501 Kirkland St., Greensboro, NC 27406.
