Born on October 1, 1965, in An Khe, Vietnam, Thang was the beloved son of Thuc Tri Vo and Thi Hanh Nguyen. In 1992, he made the courageous journey to America, where he built a life full of love, laughter, and strength in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Thang was known for his unwavering work ethic and his incredible determination. He never took "no" for an answer—there was truly nothing he couldn’t do. He always went above and beyond to support and care for his family, leading by example and filling their lives with joy. Whether he was playing his guitar, spending quality time with his loved ones, or gathering with friends, Thang brought warmth and light to every room he entered.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Manh Nguyen; his daughters, Cathleen (Collin) Painter and Lillian Vo; his step-children, Andy Nguyen and Bao Anh Tran and his six grandchildren, Addyson Vo-Reeves, Jameson Cutter, Aniyah Bethel, Mason Cutter, Kai Bethel, and Coleson Painter. Thang is also survived by his siblings: Hoc Vo (2), Lee Woodell (4), Hay Vo (5), Thiet Clark (6), Gioi Vo (7), Thong Vo (8), and Thao Vo (9).
Thang’s strength, resilience, and vibrant spirit will live on in his family, especially in his daughters and grandchildren. He made a lasting impact on everyone he met and will forever be remembered for his fun-loving nature, kindness, and the ability to make others laugh. He is deeply missed by all who knew him.
