Stanley Archibald "Archie" McBee

Stanley Archibald “Archie” McBee, 91, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Tuesday May 19, 2020. He was born May 1, 1929 in the community of Ashford in McDowell County, the son of John Clinton and Myrtle Jones McBee.

Archie owned and operated McBee Realty until he retired. He was an avid golfer and had amassed an impressive collection of golf balls over the years. He was an active member of Christ Wesleyan Church and served in several leadership roles including Vice-Chair of the local church board.

He was married to Jeanette Oliver McBee who preceded him in death on May 13, 2016. Archie was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Carol McBee, Dorcas McBee, Jewel McBee Francis, Opal McBee McDaniel and brothers, Dwight McBee and Harold McBee.

Archie is survived by his daughter, Dawn McBee Saunders and husband David of Pawley’s Island, SC; his son, Dayn Clinton McBee and wife Suzanne of Blowing Rock; his sister, Esther McBee Streater of Greensboro; grandchildren, Lauren McBee Ciampa and husband Michael, Taylor Dayn McBee, Stuart Morgan Saunders, Kelly Savannah Saunders and great granddaughter, Evelyn Frances Ciampa.

Archie loved his family and was so proud of his children and grandchildren. More than that, however, he loved his Lord and was guided by his faith. He was an example of Christian love and service, and he was devoted to his church family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel officiated by the Reverend Dr. E. Keith Carroll and the Reverend Ken Kline. The family will visit with friends after the service. Interment will be in Guilford Memorial Park.
