Shirley Wray Howell

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Gospel Baptist Church at 1:00 pm with Pastor Paul Luttrell officiating. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Shirley was born in Guilford County to the late Christine Brown Crockett. She was a graduate Page High School. She retired from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro after thirty years of service in acquisitions in the circulation department of the Library.

Shirley was a member of Gospel Baptist Church. She was so very proud of her son and loved and adored her grandchildren. She enjoyed animals, traveling, flowers and working in the yard. She also enjoyed walking, eating at Jake’s Diner and dancing at the Inferno.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Billy Brown. She is survived by her son, Randy Howell; granddaughters, Logan Howell and Britton Howell of High Point; brother, Ken Crockett and wife Judy; sister-in-law Pat Brown; nephew Phillip Brown and niece Melissa Brown
