Mrs. Sally Watterson, 69 of Greensboro passed Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital following a complication due to surgery. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel by Rev. Will Milks. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home.
Sally was born September 3, 1953 in Greensboro. She was the daughter of James and Mary Ann Mika Chance.
Sally was a graduate of Western Carolina University and received her post graduate degree from UNC-G. She went on to teach speech pathology in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools for over 30 years. Sally always had a bright outlook on life using her favorite phrases such as “no news is good news” and “life is good”. Sally had a special love for cats and many could be found around her home. Sally enjoyed traveling abroad, spending time at the beach and especially taking cruises. She enjoyed playing Mahjong with friends and reading. She frequented the Mexican restaurant Rio Grande with family and friends to celebrate life. She will be missed.
In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her brother Jeffrey Chance. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Johnny Watterson, daughter, Lauren Tuttle (Chad), son, Mike Ingold (Kate) and granddaughter Ava Tuttle, all of Greensboro; brothers, James Chance (Missy) of Jamestown and David Chance (Kamali) of Graham; step-sons, Jason Watterson (Tara) of Knightdale and Jonathan Watterson (Abigail) of Greensboro.
