Sara Lee Barker Marshburn died March 6, 2023 at Well Spring Retirement Community. She was born February 11, 1929 in Burlington, NC the daughter of the late Guy Edward & Margaret Louise King Barker.

Mrs. Marshburn graduated from The University of North Carolina Women’s College with a BS in Home Economics in 1951, and a teaching degree for High School Science and Home Economics. She was an incredibly active member of St Francis Episcopal Church for over 45 years.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marshburn was preceded in death by her husband Bryan Dow Marshburn and her son Matthew Bryan Marshburn. She is survived by her daughter Anne Elizabeth Marshburn Smith, her son-in-law Blair Archbold Smith and grandsons Austin Mark Smith and Nicolas Blair Smith.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at St. Francis Episcopal Church on 3506 Lawndale Drive in Greensboro, NC 27408. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall of the church.
