

Born in Allentown, Pa., on Sept. 14, 1952, he was the son of the late Henry Edward Gerhard and the late Nanette Fetzer Gerhard Raber. He and his family relocated to Greensboro, N.C., from Coopersburg, Pa., with Mack Trucks. Ron worked with Mack for more than 30 years, most recently as Director of Commercial Administration.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Greensboro, N.C., and formerly a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran “Blue” Church, in Coopersburg, Pa. Ronald was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed. He was best known for his kindness, character and love for his family. He lived his life practicing what is often only preached: actions, not just words.
Ronald was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Edward “Skip” Gerhard Jr. Surviving are his loving wife of 35 years, Brenda Hill Gerhard; daughters, Stephanie Long and husband Kevin of Chalfont, Pa., Lily Gerhard and fiancé Christopher Borges of Treasure Island, Fl., and brother, Jeffrey Gerhard and wife Katherine of Whitehall, Pa. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3rd, at First Lutheran Church, Friendly Ave., Greensboro. The family will be receiving visitors from 2-3 p.m. at the church.

The family will have a celebration of Ron’s life in the Lehigh Valley, Pa., area at a later date. Details will be announced.
