Rita Lucile Loggins Swain, age 76, of Myrtle Beach, SC (formally of Greensboro, NC) passed away on November, 12th at 3:05pm Rita was born April 19th, 1947 in Winston-Salem, NC to Lucile Wishon Loggins and James Henry Loggins, the youngest of four children.
She graduated from Gray High School in 1965. She also attended Winston-Salem Business College. During her life she worked for Hanes Knitting, School of the Arts and Wells Fargo. While at Wells Fargo she made many life long friends and held the job of Vice President of Wealth Management until her retirement in 2013. Prior to retiring she met Phil Price, they married March 31st, 2007 and moved to Greensboro, NC. Rita enjoyed tennis, biking, and dancing.
Rita sadly developed dementia a few years after retirement and decided to move to Myrtle Beach, SC to be near her son. Rita was preceded in death by her parents and brother Michael L. Loggins. She is survived by her husband Phil Price; son, Chad Swain (wife Jennifer); daughter, Kari Mower (husband Dustin); granddaughters, Ashley Swain and Logan Swain; and father of her children Rodney Swain. She is also survived by her brothers, Jimmy Loggins and Steven Loggins (wife Jeannette); and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Rita was an active member of her church, Guilford College United Methodist Church of Greensboro and was a devoted Christian woman.
A simple graveside service honoring her life will be held Guilford Memorial Park at 6000 W. Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407. The service will be held on Thursday, November 16th at 10:00 am. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations to be made to Agape Hospice Care at 3009-B Church Street, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577, Embrace Hospice House at 175 Village Center Blvd., Myrtle Beach, SC 29587, Myrtle Beach Grove at 3620 Happy Woods Court, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588 and/or Guilford College United Methodist Church at 1205 Fleming Road, Greensboro, NC 27410.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Myrtle Beach Grove for their support and care of Rita. The family would especially like to thank Agape Hospice Care and Embrace Hospice House for their care and support through the last days of her journey.
