Randall Keith Smith

Randall (Randy) Keith Smith, 64, of Greensboro went home to be with His Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 23, 2024 after battling a brain tumor. He is preceded in death by his father Donald A. Smith, mother Ann M. Smith and infant sister Marie Kimberly Smith.

Born on September 23, 1959 at Moses Cone Hospital, Randy attended Guilford County Schools and graduated Western Guilford High School. As a young boy, Randy took interest in exploring outdoors, scouring for arrowheads often found after plowing the gardens and enjoyed learning about science and how things work. He became interested in electronics and as computers became more and more advanced, he was able to keep up with the best.

He enjoyed reading and challenging himself, often taking things apart and rebuilding them into a better version of themselves. He like to stay fit by cycling, and the use of various exercise equipment. He had a love for cats and enjoyed their company immensely. Randy was a quiet, gentle soul who preferred solitude and nature to the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

He was employed by Donald A. Smith Trucking Co., rising to vice president until retiring in 2023.

Randy is survived by his brother Allen Smith and wife Frances. His sisters Gwen Long and Mitzi Green along with nieces Claire and Miranda Long, Mackenzi and Hayden Green, nephews Joey Smith and wife Hannah and Robert Smith and wife Elaine. He also has great nephews Noah Smith, Oliver Smith and a great niece Harper Smith.

We love and miss him but are rejoicing that his new life has begun.

A service will be held at Hanes Lineberry, N Elm on Friday March 29, 2024 at 1:00 pm officiated by Reverend Mickey Young, with visitation and refreshments following on site.
