A funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm Wednesday evening, February 16, 2011, at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel. The following day, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Born in Mendota, VA, to the late Corby and Manerva Hobbs, Mr. Hobbs was a member of Philadelphia Church of God. He served in the United States Army, was a talented Artist, and was owner and operator of Hobbs and Sons Painting Contractor Company.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 64 years, Juanita “Wanda” Hobbs; sons, David Hobbs and his wife Helen of Raleigh, Corby Hobbs, Ralph B. Hobbs, Jr., and his wife Wanda, Larry Hobbs, and Randy Hobbs, all of Greensboro; sister, Pauline Fritz and her husband Bill of Tennessee; brother, Jimmy Hobbs and his wife Brenda of Tennessee; grandsons, Paul Hobbs and Garrett Hobbs; and great-grandchildren, Abigail Leigh Hobbs, Graham Hobbs, and Nathan Hobbs.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
