Polly was born June 23, 1926, in Randolph County, NC to the late Kinston B. and Bessie Foust Brown. She was a member of Julian United Methodist Church. She was secretary and treasurer of Acme Florist Supply which she and her husband W.C. “Duck” Arrington founded. Polly thoroughly enjoyed shopping for herself and her family, with Christmas being her favorite time of the year. She had a special place in her heart for the beautiful home at White Lake. When someone said “let’s go” she jumped in her car with her canine companion Benji by her side.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. “Duck” Arrington; son, Richard C. “Rick” Arrington; brother, Kinston “Billy” Brown and daughter-in-law, Margaret C. Arrington. She is survived by her granddaughters, Dana Stewart and husband David, Shelley Vivas and husband Eddie; great grandchildren, Lilly and Meagan Stewart; nephews, Stephen “Steve” Brown; Michael “Mike” Brown and his wife Mitzi and their children, Roger “Charlie” Brown and wife Sharon and their children; sister-in-law, Johnnie Brown, her lifelong friend, Mildred Jessup Fields and her loyal canine companion, Benji.
A special thanks to all of those with At In Home Health Care and Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro for the love and compassion given to Polly while in their care.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel.
