Peggy Lancaster Cantrell

Mrs. Peggy Lancaster Cantrell, 79, of Greensboro, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at her home.

A graveside service will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m., at Westminster Gardens by Deacon Vince Shaw.

Peggy was born March 17, 1936 in Greenville, the daughter of Herbert D. Lancaster and Rosa Smith Lancaster.

Peggy received her training as a registered nurse in Jacksonville, FL and worked in nursing until her retirement at Moses Cone, Hospital, L. Richardson Hospital and finally at NC A&T State University. She was a compassionate, strong willed, outgoing person who never met a stranger. Peggy enjoyed painting and especially spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband James C. Cantrell.

Surviving are her sons, Tony Lancaster and wife Lelia Maryanne of Tallahassee, FL and Mike Lancaster of Greensboro; brother, Ralph Lancaster and wife Sandra of Palm Coast, FL; granddaughters, Miley Rose and Lily Anne Lancaster.

Friends will be received Sunday, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel.
