She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Jimmy R. Ward, in 2018 and her husband of 61 years, James C. Ward, in 2020. She is survived by her sons, Randall W. Ward and Ronnie K. Ward of Greensboro, NC. Daughter, Melissa Ward Bowers; and son-in-law, Eric D. Bowers of Thomasville, NC; and her two grandsons, Zack J. Bowers of Kernersville, NC and Noah A. Bowers of Greensboro, NC. Sisters, Lea Roth of Greensboro, NC and Kathie Godbolt, of Lexington, NC, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
Patsy Ward was born and raised in Greensboro, NC where she met the love of her life, James C. Ward and they were married on January 2,1959 and raised three sons and a daughter in Greensboro, NC.
Patsy retired from Bristol Myers Squibb after 20 years of service as a quality control inspector where her attention to detail was highly regarded and leveraged to ensure quality medical equipment was being distributed to patients.
She loved her family with an enduring commitment without fail. She adored planting, caring for and admiring flowers of a wide variety, truly appreciating their beauty. She also enjoyed country and gospel music and reading her bible. Her love for the Lord was very apparent and she clung to her faith strongly.
She was always a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, maw-maw and sister to her family. A true friend to many throughout her lifetime. She will be missed by so many people and will live on in the memories of those lives that she touched throughout her long life.
A small cryptside entombment service will be held in her memory at Guilford Memorial Park's Sedgefield Mausoleum, located at 6000 West Gate City Blvd., in Greensboro, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
