Patricia Poag Barton

Patricia retired from Sears and attended the former Bessemer Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Greensboro High School (Grimsley High School;). A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed traveling, playing Rook and dancing with her husband Charlie. She loved to cook. Known for her Sunday dinners and especially holidays. Her McDonald’s Crew friends were special to Patricia as they gathered to share in their coffee and meals.

She was married to Charles “Charlie” Douthet Barton, Sr. who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Mary Catherine “Catchy” Kennedy, Lucinda “Cindy” Spencer and her brother, Pete Y. Poag.

Surviving are her sons, Charles D. Barton, Jr. and wife Bobbie of Kernersville, Michael Y. Barton and wife Crystal of Kernersville; grandchildren, Brandi Potter and husband Michael, Amber M. Barton, Candis Rose and husband Jeremy, Charles D. Barton, III and wife Christine, Matthew Young Barton, Ezekiel N. Barton and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
