A funeral service will be held Wednesday, 2:00 p.m., at Gate City Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the church.
O.L was born August 19, 1934 in Greensboro, the son of Odis Lee Snyder, Sr. and Beulah Kennedy Snyder.
O.L. was employed at the Greensboro Coliseum for over 25 years as a supervisor and worked many years at Hanes-Lineberry FH. He enjoyed woodworking and was an adventurous spirit, whether riding his Goldwing, hot air ballooning, zip lining or rafting, he was always up for a challenge. O.L was a former charter member of Sumner Baptist Church where he was a youth director, softball coach, Royal Ambassador Leader, Deacon and Bussin Buddies director, coordinating many trips with his church family. O.L will be remembered as a good son to his parents, giving them care at every stage in life, a good neighbor and a Christian man leading others to Christ. Most of all O.L. enjoyed being with his family.
In addition to his parents, O.L. was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Anderson; brother, Harrell “Frog” Snyder, and sister, Sarah Rathmell.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 71 years, Mary Jane Snyder; sons, Randy Snyder (Patsy) of Greensboro and Mark Snyder of High Point; daughter, Marcia Weavil (Randy) of Kernersville; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
