Nathan Starick was born in Papua New Guinea on May 11th, 1977 to missionary parents, Trevor, an Australian, and Linda, a Chicago native. Along with his 3 brothers, Scott, Brett and Neville, he lived there until he was 4 when the family moved to Australia. Nathan was a proud Australian and enjoyed playing cricket, being outside, and sharing his culture.
He moved to the United States in 2001, following his brother Scott to North Carolina. Not long after, he met his future wife, Crissy, and all along the way he made friends that became a family away from home. He also continued to connect with loved ones in Australia and be part of their lives.
Vibrant and energetic, he was a wonderful friend, husband and father to Sullivan, ready to go to the moon for anyone who needed anything. Stubborn and determined, he excelled in life and cared for so many along the way. Loving and kind, he was a best friend to many and a tough-love supporter and social director who strived to keep people connected.
Nathan loved camping and hated wearing shoes. We love him so much. Words cannot describe how much we will miss him.
Special prayers and thoughts for the brothers, their wives, Tommi Leigh, Cara and Jody, the many nephews and niece, Trevor and Joyce, and the many friends in Australia who cannot be here due to distance.
A celebration of life for Nathan will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street, Greensboro, North Carolina 27401.
