Nancy Lee Kain Lyon

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro, with Rev. Neil Dunnavant officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Virginia Gilmer Room. Nancy will be laid to rest beside her husband at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro prior to the funeral service during a private family committal service.

Nancy was born June 13, 1931 to the late Hal and Anne Kain in Wheeling, West Virginia and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro. She was a licensed Dental Hygienist but, took great pride in being an outstanding Homemaker. Nancy was a past member of the Tar Heel Garden Club, Junior League, Wednesday Lecture Club, Debutante Club, Sedgefield Hunt Club, and the Greensboro Country Club. She was an avid diehard Tar Heel Fan. Nancy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Muir P. Lyon.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Linda Ball Gross (Brad) of Greensboro, Debbie L. Lineberry of Greensboro, William M. Lyon (Sheri) of Greensboro, and Joseph S. Lyon, Sr. (Michelle) of Summerfield; sister, Debbie Peggs (Jim) of Greensboro; brothers, William Kain (Lenora) of Harlingen, TX, Robert Kain (Loena) of Houston, TX, and Jack Kain (Sherri) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Lee Saunders (Stuart), Lauren Casner (Kenny), Taylor Lineberry (Laura), Amy Lyon, Will Lyon, Joseph Lyon, Jr., Shannon Sharpe, Julia Davis, Barbara Ann Davis, Buck Davis, Christopher Gross, and Adrianne Minthorne; great-grandchildren, Lucy Doyle, Wylie Doyle, McIver Saunders, Porter Saunders, Lennon Holloway Saunders, Kassie Casner, Titus Casner, Ellie Casner, Creed Casner, Zeb Casner, and Emma Claire Sharpe.
