Moe was born on December 4, 1923 in Guilford County, the son of John William and Mary Carter Clay. During WWII, he worked in Cleveland, Ohio helping with the production of military products needed for the war. Moe was a skilled machinist and retired at age 80. He was a member of Hunter Hills Baptist Church.
Moe was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Sizemore Clay and six siblings. Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Rick Clay and wife Jill of Winston Salem, NC, Linda Carmichael and husband Dean of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren; Valerie Goad and husband Brian of Mebane, NC and Dean Carmichael Jr. and wife Lauran, of Greensboro, NC and great grandson, Caeden Goad.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20th, 11:00 am at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
