Mary Jane Shelton Mosher

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2016, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service

Jane was born December 22, 1928, in Yanceyville, NC, Clarandon Hall, to the late James Maxwell and Margaret Carr Jones Shelton.

Jane graduated valedictorian from Bartlett Yancey High School and was a graduate from Greensboro College. Jane was a teacher, Greensboro College Alumni president, member of the Greensboro Choral Society, Guilford Battle Chapter #301, U.D.C and the Daughters of the American Revolution, Myrtle Rebekah Lodge #51 and the Euterpe Music Club. She enjoyed being in several bridge and garden clubs through the years as well as traveling extensively in the United States, Canada and Europe.

Jane was a former member of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church, College Place United Methodist Church and attended Friendly Avenue Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband in 1985, Robert Carl Mosher.

She is survived by her numerous cousins and extended family.
