Mary Ruth Drake Hicks

Mary Ruth Hicks, 70, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at Wesley Long Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with Rev. Ray Calhoun officiating.

Mary was born on January 21, 1941, the daughter of Hoyt and Mame Jewell Drake. She was a full time care giver to her husband, Jack. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first.

Those surviving are her husband, Jack Thomas Hicks; children, Star Renee Kelly and husband Rick of Kannapolis, NC, Chris Harrington and wife Karen of Winston Salem, NC, Richard Harrington and wife Rosa of Jacksonville, FL, Mark Harrington and wife Robin of Kannapolis, James Harrington and wife Denise of Richmond, VA; mother, Jewell Brown of Hartwell, GA; sister, Betty McIntyre of Greensboro, NC; brothers; Allen Drake of Elberton, GA and Mike Drake of Hartwell, GA; step-daughter, Tammy Wolfe and husband Andy of Thomasville, NC and thirteen grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday morning one hour prior to service time at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
