Suzie was born and raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, attending Camden Catholic High School and spending her summers at the family “shore house” in Ocean City, NJ. Upon her graduation from Camden Catholic Suzie attended Marymount University in Arlington, VA. After graduation, Suzie lived in the Washington DC area working at ITT.
It was at this time where she met the love of her life, Dave Clifford. After two years of dating, Dave proposed underneath the cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin in DC and the rest was history. After a short period of time living in Mystic, CT Suzie, Dave and their two sons (Brian and Patrick) settled in Greensboro, NC where Suzie would remain until her passing.
Suzie was always a big animal lover, especially when it came to her beloved dogs. Whether she was feeding baby ducks at the lake in her backyard or donating her time and money to the ASPCA, Suzie devoted much of her life to the betterment of animals. Children were also very important to Suzie. Not just her own children, but the many children whose lives she touched as an assistant teacher at Southwest Elementary School, where she worked for 20 years.
Suzie’s hobbies included reading a good book (especially on the beach), traveling with her husband Dave and watching her two sons play sports.
Suzie leaves behind her devoted husband of 35 years Dave Clifford, her son Brian Clifford and his wife Lainey, her son Patrick Clifford and his girlfriend Diana as well as their three children Malachi, London and Valerie. She is also survived by her siblings Bill McCann(Barbara McCann) and Patty Simalchik (Rob Simalchik) and predeceased by her brother Timothy McCann. Suzie also leaves behind many other dear relatives and lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Suzie’s memory be made to the “Timothy McCann Memorial Scholarship Fund” for LaSalle University at 1900 W. Olney Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19141.
