Martha Nell Martin Wilson, 85, passed away at Clapps Nursing Center in Pleasant Garden on Sunday May 24, 2020. She was born May 28, 1934 in Greensboro, the daughter of Robert Manley and Meta McIntosh Martin.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Harold E. Dodd, Jr.; sisters, Eva Jeanne Cooper, Doris Marie Thoma and her brother, William R. Martin.
Martha was a former employee with Guilford Mills and was a member of the Rhythm and Heart Band at Aldergate.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Dodd of Elizabethtown, Margie Dodd Vernon and husband Johnnie of Greensboro; her sister, Eileen Martin Coble and husband Luther of Liberty; grandchildren, Charles Freeman, Jessica Cook, Christy Gourley and great grandchildren, Sierra Ayers, Jesse Wallace, Kacidie Freeman, Madison Freeman, Ellie Cook, Zachary Vernon, Lexius Vernon and Christin Rameio.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Phillip Talton. Interment will be in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
