Mark Herbert Royal

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Guilford Park Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Jeff Paschal officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Mark was born February 10, 1953 in Greensboro, the son of Margaret Goodson Royal and the late Jack Herbert Royal.

Mark attended Durham County Schools. He received a degree in Civil Engineering at NC State University in Raleigh. Mark retired from VF Corporation where he was employed for many years.

In addition to his mother of Durham, Mark is survived by his wife of twenty years, Linda Benson Royal; brother, Randy Royal and wife Mollie of Chesapeake, VA; sister, Rebecca Royal McLoughlin and husband Thomas of Center Valley, PA. He is also survived by two special nieces and four special nephews, Ashley Royal Whited and husband Rob, Jack Royal, Jr. and wife Kelsey, Ryan, Aidan and Keelin McLoughlin and Ben Gleason. Mark also had two dogs, Ruby Sue and Mary Sue, which were truly a part of his family and spent many hours with him.

Friends will be received Tuesday, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service at the church.
