Mark Andrew Fortun

Mark Andrew Fortun, 58, of Browns Summit, NC passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, after battling glioblastoma brain cancer. He was born on April 9, 1964, in Bethlehem, PA. He attended the University of Massachusetts and earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Mark is survived by his wife of 35 years, Holly Fortun; his daughter, Catherine Fortun Johnson and husband Evan of Wake Forest; his son, Matthew Fortun and wife Darsey of Youngsville; two grandchildren, Savannah Beth Johnson and Avery Malrie Johnson; mother, Margaret Jane Fortun; father, Chester Paul Fortun; sister, Stephanie Ghioni and husband David; brother, Christopher Fortun and wife Karen; and numerous other family and friends.

Mark was an avid reader, runner, and hiker. He also enjoyed dirt biking, photography and serving as an Eagle Scout Advisor. His favorite activity was spending time with family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on December 28, 2022, at 2pm at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home. A reception and visitation will follow the service.
