Marjory M. Houston

Mrs. Marjory M. Houston, 85, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Moses Cone Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Westminster Gardens Cemetery, 3601 Whitehurst Road, with Rev. Jon Boling officiating.

Marjory was born February 16, 1938, in Guilford County, NC, daughter of the late Elmer E. and Edna N. Mitchell. She was the manager of Workers Comp. Division at Firemans Fund Insurance and a member of Lawndale Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Houston was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Houston in 2016 and her sisters, Marie Howerton and Lois Thackerson. She is survived by her son, Fred “Stan” Houston; daughter, Christina Gaither (Darrell); grandchildren, Alex, Patrick and Andrew Suits, Dylan and Zach Rouse and great grandchildren, Avery, Colton, Parker, Olivia, Charlotte and arriving in June, Nora. Also surviving are her loving nieces and nephews.
