Mrs. Marion Goodman Thomas

Marion Goodman Thomas, our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Sister peacefully departed her earthly life to begin her eternal one on Sunday, March 27, 2011 surrounded by her family.

Marion was born March 31, 1912 in Charlotte, NC to Rufus Herbert and Bessie Robinson Goodman. She was primarily a lifelong resident to Greensboro, NC. She enjoyed being around people and volunteered her time at Woman’s Hospital for 20 years. She loved her family and until the age of about 90, she always prepared a Wednesday evening dinner for them. She was a member of Hinshaw Memorial United Methodist Church.

Marion was preceded in death by her Mother and Father and by her husband of 42 years, Nathaniel Thomas.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Don Thomas and wife Ethel of Myrtle Beach, SC, Larry Thomas and wife Joan of Greensboro, her sister, Robbie Evelyn Goodman of Greensboro; her grandchildren, Brian, Teresa, Donna, Marlo; nine great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Reverend Donna Smith. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
