Greensboro – Marion Yount Sharpe, 91, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Spring Arbor.
A service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Hickory, NC on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
Marion was born to Clarence and Madge Hoover Yount in Conover, NC. She was a graduate of Hickory High School and attended Lenoir Rhyne College. Marion was a homemaker and loved to sew and knit. She was a seamstress and avid bridge player. She attended First Presbyterian Church.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Confederacy.
She was predeceased by her parents. Marion is survived by her children, Diane Ball and husband Bryan of East Strasburg, PA, Robin Ball and husband Brad of Greensboro, Susan Butchart and husband Les of Greensboro, and Douglas Sharpe and wife Dr. Donna Sharpe of Durham, NC; She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
