Marie Q. Stanley

Marie was born on December 14, 1925 in Greensboro, one of seven children of John H, and Maude Dixon Quate Sr. She was a long time member of Jessup Grove Baptist Church. She worked with Burlington Industries and then Vick Chemical and retired from Proctor and Gamble. She enjoyed working in her yard and growing flowers. Marie loved and cared for her family.

Marie was preceded in death by her sisters; Blanche Walker and Betty Jean Overcash and brothers, John Quate Jr. and Carlson Eddie Quate. Surviving are her loving husband of 68 years, Calvin “Tab” Stanley; brothers, Theodore Quate and wife Irene and Charles Ray Quate and wife Elaine T., all of Greensboro, NC; sister-in-law, Flossie Bryant of Greensboro, NC and niece, Esther Hidle of Orlando, FL and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Feb.8th, 3:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
