Marie Apple Pearman

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Lawndale Baptist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Rodney Navey and Rev. Marion Boling. Entombment will follow at Westminster Gardens. Prior to the service the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. in the foyer of the church.

Marie was born on October 3, 1924 in Guilford County, a daughter of W.R. and Ida Murray Apple. She was married to Richard M. Pearman, Sr. for 64 years. They lived in Kinston, NC for 40 years and the remainder in Greensboro.

She spent some of her working career as a teller at North Carolina National Bank, but mostly she was a devoted wife and mother. As a member of Lawndale Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Kinston, Marie was an active WMU member, taught Sunday school, and sang in the choir. She was a volunteer (Pink Lady) at the hospital in Kinston. She enjoyed gardening, reading, bridge and canasta.

Mrs. Pearman was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her four siblings, and her son Richard M. Pearman Jr. She is survived by her sons Michael T. Pearman and wife Gayl of Greensboro and Larry W. Pearman and wife Susan of Summerfield; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
