Marian Ann Hopkins, 70, of Greensboro passed away on Saturday February 10, 2018 at Blumenthal’s Nursing Center. She was born February 18, 1947 in Spartanburg, SC the daughter of the late Elmer “Jack” Blease and Pauline Frady Coates.
Ann was a nurse and practiced in the Greensboro area for 21 years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was married for 48 years. She was also an organist at Drayton Baptist in Spartanburg sc and she also played the piano at Summerfield Temple in Summerfield NC. She also enjoyed being a scorekeeper at Summerfield pony league and basketball. She had a love for music, baking, arts and crafts. In her spare time she would paint or baked desserts.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Michael Hopkins of the home; daughter, Mellnee Ann Hopkins Clodfelter and husband Michael of Mt. Airy; sister, Trudy Coates Barone of Spartanburg, SC; sister in law Martha Rose McNeal of Amisville, VA, grandchildren, Adam Michael Clodfelter and wife Megan of Louisville, KY, Misty Lynn Clodfelter and Amber Noel Clodfelter both of Mt. Airy and great granddaughter, Cagney Paige Clodfelter.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Guilford Memorial Park conducted by the Reverend Don Ellis.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that Memorials be made in Ann’s memory to the N.C. Lions, Inc.
