Maria Thung Y

Thung Y was described by many as a kind, giving, strong, humble,and forgiving woman who loved God and her family. A woman who loves her garden. You will often see her smiling and her laughter is unforgettable. Her heart was soo big, even when in her worst health condition, she will keep doing and giving. She was a woman who would give up her last meal and still offer to help others.

Thung Y was a survivor and hero. During the Vietnam War she served as a nurse tech to help those in need. She survived the war with her Vietnam vet husband and children, and relocated to the United States for an opportunity for a better future for her children. In the US, with her husband, they have shared their homes to help refugees and those who needed a home.

Thung Y was loved by many and will be missed dearly. A definition of a phenomenal woman. May her soul Rest in Peace in God’s Kingdom.
