Margaret Boone Smithey

Margaret Boone Smithey, 90, passed away January 17, 2018 after years of declining health. A service to celebrate her life will be at 3 PM, Sunday, January 21 at McLeansville Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Mike Barnette with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 PM prior to the service.

Margaret was a native of McLeansville born to Joseph and Lydia Boone. Since 1978 she faithfully worshipped at McLeansville Baptist Church where she participated in the choir. She and her husband were both faithful supporters of Gideon’s International. Margaret was a farm girl at heart and will be remembered for her energetic and playful spirit and happy outlook on life. She absolutely loved the company of children and cared for two generations of youngsters.

Margaret is survived by two nephews, three nieces and a sister. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro or Gideon’s International.
