Mrs. Louise Boyd Marshall, 93, a resident of Greensboro died Monday January 12, 2015 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. Louise was born January 13, 1921 in High Point, the daughter of Robert Caswell and Callie Vuncannon Boyd. She graduated from High Point High School and Bryce Commercial College.
She retired after 50 years from Matt Marshall & Company; a company she and her late husband Madison Marshall founded. Louise was an active member of Hinshaw United Methodist Church for over 50 years and served in several church capacities. Among them were Superintendent of Sunday School, she served as Treasurer of many circles and classes, Circle chairperson, served on the program committee for the circle, telephone chairperson, supporter of the softball team and attended every circle meeting every month for over 50 years. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women and received the Women's Missionary pin.
She was married to Madison Luther Marshall who preceded her in death on September 28, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Eunice Boyd, Dorothy B. Aldred and Hazel B. Glisson.
She is survived by one daughter, Marlee Baum and husband Terry of Jamestown; two sons, Hollis Marshall of Greensboro, Marlon Marshall and wife Kathi of Greensboro; five grandchildren, Jennifer Baum, Jason Marshall, Angie Cox, Zackary Marshall, Lauren Marshall and five great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Matti, Makinley, Chase and Colby.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Charles Penley. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
