A memorial service will be held at Moriah United Methodist Church on Friday, December 30, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
She was born on October 30, 1927 to the late Harvey Williams and Bessie McMasters Williams. Lois graduated from Greensboro Senior High School. She began her working career
at Silver’s Department store in downtown Greensboro while she was still in high school. After graduation she was employed at the Carolina Theatre as an usherette, eventually becoming the bookkeeper. She retired from Boren Brick Company after many years of service as a secretary.
Lois was a member of Moriah United Methodist church for many years and was a member of the Alpha circle. She was a caring person and a hard worker. Lois loved by all animals, especially Buffy, one of her cherished dogs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Cox. She is survived by sisters-in-law Dorothy Cox and Martha Holt, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at countryside Manor for their loving, compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moriah United Methodist Church, 3611 Liberty Road, Greensboro, NC 27406 or to the Humane Society of the Piedmont, 4527 W. Wendover Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27409 in memory of Lois cox.
