The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2017, at Hanes Lineberry Vanstory Chapel, 1900 Vanstory Street. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Westminster Gardens Cemetery, 3601 Whitehurst Road with Rev. Gene Dean officiating.
Lizzie was born May 2, 1929, in Madison County, NC daughter of the late Memphis and Martha Franklin. She worked for 28 years at AMP and owned Memory Lane, a small antique store in downtown Greensboro.
In addition to her parents, Lizzie was preceded in death by her husband, Vanco Kuykendall; daughter, Trudy McMahon; grandson, Michael D. Carter; sisters, Susie Gosnell, Christine Mercer, Sara Barnett, Melva King, Margaret Crowe; brothers, Walter Ramsey, Sam Franklin, Everett Franklin, Lewis Franklin and 5 infant sibblings. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Holt of Julian; grandchildren, Angel Johnson and husband, Jamie of Climax, Van Sinclair and wife, Lisa of Lexington, Emily Findley and husband, Eddie of Hampstead, NC, Brent Sinclair and wife, Tracy of Beaufort, NC; great grandchildren, Jessica, Jordan, Tyler, Brian, Vanna, Ella, Eli, Luke, Jana, Jaysa; great-great grandchildren, Alexa, Kayden, Reagan, Carter, and Callie and sisters, Neople Williams and Munice Shelton. Also surviving are her neighbors, Buddy Mitchell and Lori Powers.
