Linda Mae Kinney King, 79, a resident of High Point, passed away Wednesday May 1, 2024 at the Hospice Home of High Point. Linda was born April 16, 1945 in Asheboro, the daughter of James Flartine and Viola Myrtle Stanley Kinney.
Linda was a member of the graduating class of 1963 at Randleman High School. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 42 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Elmer James Kinney.
Linda is survived by her husband James Gary King of the home; one daughter, Sharon King Schneider (Paul Noll) of Archdale; one son, Brian King (April) of Raleigh; grandchildren, Brittany Dratwick, Jospeh Schneider, Kimberly Gibson, Jameson King, Josephine King, Josselyn King; four great grandchildren, Mackenzie Copley, Christian Dratwick, John Paul Dratwick, Brantley Williams, nephew, Christopher Kinney (Jennifer) of Asheboro and a niece, Janie Portis of Archdale.
Funeral services will be held Monday May 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel officiated by the Reverend Dr. Jay Smith. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
