Linda F. Floyd Hamby

Linda Floyd Hamby, 63, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010 at Wesley Long Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 11:00 am at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with Rev. Vic Redding officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Linda was born in Rockingham County, North Carolina, August 14, 1946 and was the daughter of Linwood T and Reeves Marie Wilson Floyd. She married James E. Hamby on March 26, 1963. Linda was employed with the Guilford County Schools and a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband James of the home; children; Tammy Burroughs and husband Gary, Lisa Miller and husband Steve and James Edward Hamby II, all of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Terri Green, Daniel Green and wife Stacey, Heather Matthews, Tim Matthews, Jr. and great granddaughter, Amber Matthews. The Family would also like to acknowledge the special love she had for her student, Stephanie Douglas whom she loved and cherished as a member of her own family.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
