The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
Leon was born in San Fernando, Trinidad to the late Lemuel and Christiana Babulal Ramrattan. He was raised in Trinidad and as an adult lived in NY and FL and moved to Greensboro in 2006. Leon was a man of great faith and attended Westover Church. Friends and family speak lovingly of him as a generous and humble soul who truly had a servant’s heart. He was affectionately known as “Dr. Leon, plant rescuer” and loved to tend to his plants and rescue plants for others who didn’t have his green thumb. He loved photography and was a gifted artist and musician. Leon has always been a special person but after overcoming overwhelming odds in his personal life, of which he never complained God placed on his heart that he was here to touch the lives of others. When he entered the room his easy, infectious laughter and beautiful presence and spirit was overwhelming. Friendship, family and wonderful memories of his loving parents were paramount in Leon’s life. His legacy of peace and kindness will never leave the hearts of those he touched.
He will be missed and remembered by his brothers, Neal Ramrattan of Stokesdale and Anthony Ramrattan of NY; his nephews, Nicolas and Marc Ramrattan; his sister-in-law, Ruby Ramrattan; and so many friends.
